Darth Vader and Chewbeacca, among others, put in an appearance at the Student Government Association meeting Tuesday night, October 31. The graduate meeting that morning was not graced with their presence.
Rosita Jackson spoke at the Graduate Student Government meeting about the Career Services office and the services offered for graduate students. Bob Hardy presented the new Georgia Tech sign proposals to both houses.
Both houses failed a request to fund an assistant director for ORGT. USC also failed a request for money for Freshmen Council to complete a ropes course.
USC passed the elections schedule for winter quarter. Applications for president, vice-president, and all representatives positions can be picked up in the SGA office. Applications are due January 19, and the elections will be February 6, 7, and 8. Appointments to the elections committee were approved as well.
The following bills will be considered next week: an allocation to AIESEC for a conference in Detriot, an allocation for the Yellow Jacket fencer's Society to purchase equipment, an allocation to the Marksmanship Club for equipment and supplies.
A resolution asking the registration holds be placed before registration begins will be discussed. A resolution concerning the sanctions imposed on the Georgia Phi chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon will also be discussed.
