Cinderella comes out a flop
Don't bother with this monotonous, repetitive album

+: Kami Lyle's new album, Blue Cinderella (MCA), is just another example of the terrible stuff corporate labels can produce

Man, what in the world am I supposed to say? This album is just another in the gushing trashy flow that finds it's putrid way into record stores across the country! I do not exaggerate! Kami Lyle plays the boring, emotionless music of a boring, emotionless girl.

The lineup includes keyboards, guitar, bass, drums, and even incorporates a trumpet into the mess, but the compositions are passive that I am still not sure if any of the members can play their instruments at all. I mean, there is a definite rhythm, but it is so generic and simple that it doesn't seem to really be conscious people strumming away! This monotony is broken by only one track on the whole album, "Midnight Club," a rather jazzy piece, and even this track only seems good when taken in context with the rest of the album! Lyle's vocals are bland, but sweet, and her idea of rhythm is to use the same one over and over for every song (I am not joking, her voice dives and climbs at the same point in every song!).

Anyway, I hate stupid albums like this one. The only people that may be able to squeeze any enjoyment out of this dry album are the same people that think jazz is embodied by Kenny G and that the only thing greater than David Hasselhof's acting career is his singing career...'nuff said.
