Ferst Center for the Arts wins "Very Special" award
Center presented with the Arts For All Collaboration Award

The Robert Ferst Center for the Arts at Georgia Tech was recently presented with the Arts for All Collaboration Award at the Very Special Arts Georgia annual Appreciation Luncheon held at the Coca-Cola Executive Dining Room.

The award was presented to recognize the Robert Ferst Center for the Arts' support of the Cultural Paralympiad presentations. The Center had been instrumental in the successful completion of the first Cultural Paralympiad.

The Center was recognized for helping Very Special Arts Georgia present two world premiere performances. To commemorate the award, the Ferst Center for the Arts was presented with an original, specially-commissioned print signed by the artist David A. Sampson.

Present at the luncheon to receive the piece was Rosalind R. Meyers, Associate Vice President of Auxiliary Service; Rich Steele, Director of the Student Center; newly appointed director of the Robert Ferst Center for the Arts Cathy H. Burroughs, and interim Marketing Coordinator Amy Geissler. The print will be permanently installed in the lobby of the theatre.

Very Special Arts Georgia is a unique cultural organization which provides educational arts opportunities for and with individuals with disabilities to enrich their lives and the lives of everyone around them.
