Artist : Between Thieves
Album : Water
Tracks : 12
Running Time: 42 minutes
Genre : Modern Rock
Rating : 4.0 / 5.0

Between Thieves' sophomore effort is an advance for the band, and a refreshing alternative to the music listener weary from the drudgery of the bleak Atlanta radio landscape.
While fitting snugly into the genre of "modern rock", the bastard child of the genre formerly known as "alternative", they bring to light a side of the genre that was missed by most.
Boasting a streamlined lineup, trimming the keyboards for this new effort has proven effective, giving the songs a more energized feel, it feels like you're live at the show. Credit is due to Steve Hindalong, the album's producer and a seasoned industry veteran, who has consistently helped bands to put out some of their best work. Lyrically, the band has lost nothing from their previous effort. The band's name, a reference to Jesus Christ's placement during the Crucifixion, sets the tone for their album.
From the tender expressions of self-inadequacy, proclaiming their need for a savior, to the sweet love song "Painted A Picture", and even in the instrumental track, "When Gabriel Cried", it is obvious that these guys have let their private selves be vulnerably exposed, inviting the listener to identify with the album.
While not the best thing I've heard this year, Between Thieves has offered up a satisfying album.
