Hey mountain bikers, why don't you come out and join your fellow riders at Outdoor Recreation at Georgia Tech's (ORGT) Mountain Biking subcommittee? We meet every Monday at the ORGT Triangle in the basement of O'Keefe around 7:00p.m. At these meetings we schedule rides and plan upcoming events and classes, and suggestions are welcome from new members.
We started our club last October with two members, and since then, we have had as many as 30 people (male and female) at a meeting and we now have a average of approximately 10 students at each weekly meeting. Our members vary in experience, with some beginners, who have never ridden their bikes off paved road, to expert riders. We cater to each member's needs and our goal is to have some fun.
At each meeting we line up about two to four rides of varying difficulty open to any rider, regardless of experience. We may also deal with the less active, logistical issues involving the club. Business may not be as exciting as bombing down a hill, but because of these logistics and a lovely donation from SGA we have been able to buy a plethora of bike tools. In fact, we'll have a full service shop for our participants that will be open at the beginning of winter quarter.
