College bookstores win battle of prices


ATLANTA

Students collect supplies for Hurricane Mitch victims
The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers is heading up an effort to gather food and other supplies for the countries hit by Hurricane Mitch. Students are encouraged to donate food (beans, rice, plastic bottles, flour, sugar, and canned foods), over-the-counter medicine, money-any amount, can openers, water purifiers, and bleach, or any type of clothing or blankets.
Drop-off sites around campus are the College of Computing copy room, the MOVE office on the second floor of the Student Center, Room 141 of the Student Services Building, apartment 231 in the Undergraduate Living Center, and apartment A06 in Center Street Apartments.
Students can also drop off their contributions at the tables outside the Post Office in the Student Center from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on November 23 and 25.

Registration for T-Week, a week of activities designed for graduating seniors, begins December 1. Spaces are limited, so students are encouraged to register at www.alumni.gatech.edu/t-week as soon as possible. T-Week, which will be from December 8-12, will feature a night out in Buckhead, an IMAX luncheon, a financial workshop, an etiquette luncheon, as well as a post-commencement celebration. Career Fair officers to be elected on Monday-come and vote on next year's executive committee
Elections for the 1999 Georgia Tech Career Fair Officers will be held on Monday, November 23, at 7:30 p.m. in the Student Success Center in a room to be determined. Seven positions need to be filled: Vice-Chairman, Treasurer, Corresponding Secretary, Recording Secretary, Facilities I, Facilities II, and Publicity. Directory information is information which is not generally considered harmful or an invasion of privacy if disclosed. The Registrar's Office considers the following information directory information: name, address and telephone listing (including e-mail address); level (graduate or undergraduate); field of study; dates of attendance; degrees and date degrees were awarded.
Directory information cannot include student identification numbers or social security numbers. Students who wish to discuss the prohibition of release of directory information should contact the Registrar's Office in Room 104 of the Lettie Pate Evans Administration Building for procedural information.
