Plenty of Yellow Jackets information on the internet
By Simit Shah
USA Today Gopher
For Yellow Jacket fans, the World Wide Web has many sites that provide information about their favorite teams. Football and men's basketball fans are in luck, because most sites focus on those sports.
The natural starting point for fans is RamblinWreck.com, the official site of the Athletic Association. The site mainly posts press releases, which is the primary source of information for most news organizations. Schedules, statistics, and rosters can also be found on the site. RamblinWreck.com is probably the best site for fans that want information on sports other than football and basketball.
Newspapers that cover the Jackets provide most of their coverage on the Web as well. Currently, there are three print news services that have beat writers-the Atlanta-Journal Constitution, Macon Telegraph, and Morris News. Since these organizations have beat writers, they offer daily notebooks and frequent features. If you want information above and beyond the press releases, these are probably the best sites.
National services also offer coverage of the Jackets, but it is usually not as in-depth as the local newspaper sites. These sites normally feature Associated Press game recaps.

The best coverage is provided by CBS Sportsline, which runs columns by Norman Arey, who also covers Georgia Tech for the Atlanta Constitution.
USA Today Online offers a notebook that is updated three times a week.
GoACC is a site run by GoCarolinas.com. This site does a nice job of packaging news about the Jackets. There is a message board, downloadable screen saver, online poll, and a handy archive of past stories.
TheACC.com is the official site of the conference. Most of their content consists of press releases and wire stories, but it is the best site for conference statistics.
If you are looking for interaction with other Tech fans, there is one site that ranks above the rest-The Hive. Its message board boasts around 1200 registered users, according to webmaster Jonathan Leifheit. During football season, the message board averages approximately 5000 hits a day. Posts run the gamut from recruiting to rumors to second-guessing coaches. Also, links to news stories are posted on a daily basis, so this site is a great starting point to gather information on a daily basis.
Another way to follow the Jackets is through personal home pages. Several fans maintain pages that feature a particular team. "Georgia Tech Baseball: A Fan's Guide" is probably the most comprehensive site for any Tech sport. You can find all the last news and results, as well as daily updates on alumni in the pros.
Overall, fans may like or dislike certain sites based on how closely they follow Georgia Tech athletics, but there are plenty of choices on the information superhighway.
