As we all look forward to a well deserved three day weekend, the Cornell C. Houston Squadron of the Arnold Air Society would like to remind everyone about the true meaning of Memorial Day. It is a day to remember all those who served our country in time of peace and of war. It is also time to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice to give us our freedom.
In honor of these brave servicemen and women, Arnold Air Society will be holding a twenty four hour flag vigil by the Air Force ROTC building. For twenty four hours, starting Monday at 7:00 p..m.., AFROTC cadets will silently guard the American and POW/MIA flag. Everyone is welcome to the flag raising and retreat ceremonies. They will begin at 7:00 p..m.. on Monday and Tuesday, respectively.
The Cornell C. Houston Squadron of the Arnold Air Society is a professional honor service organization within AFROTC. Arnold Air Society cadets do many projects within the community and within AFROTC. In the past they have done projects such as running a platelet drive for the Red Cross, collecting canned food for the Atlanta Food Bank, and raising money for families of POW/MIA's.
