SGA aims for high turnout in upcoming elections
Dinero for Women's Soccer Club$950 for the ladies to go and kick some severe hiney in the indoor soccer season.
The Tae Kwan Do Club received $194 for an Intercollegiate tournament. This is a great opportunity for one of GT's 14 Martial Arts Clubs to strut their stuff.
Phi Psi, the Textiles Engineering Professional Fraternity, is going to a conference deep in the heart of Texas. This year's theme is Genes and Jeans. Use the $291 wisely.
SGA denied ourselves money. Yes, we are not the aristocratic clubhouse that we are assumed to be. A bill was submitted late, and, unfortunately, it didn't reach the floor until the conference had already passed. SGA's usual policy is to not fund events that have already occured, with no exceptions. Not even for ourselves.
But, we did pass a bill for $136 for the SGA Public Relations Committee in order to fund Buttons and SGA Pencils. Our goal is to get at least 35% of campus to vote in this election. Show your support, and be an educated voter Feb. 23-25. If you have any creative ideas, contact wendy@sga or scott@sga
The Fiscal Year 1999 Student Activity Budget has been passed. $1,921,463.00 has been budgeted to fund organizations such as SAC, Student Center, WREK, Publications Board, and every culture organization on this campus. This is your Activity fee hard at work.
There were some changes made to the SGA bylaws and constitution concerning the presidetial veto and a 24 hour lay period. For more details, contact Divya Gupta with Internal Affairs.
